The Nastiest Thing I Do

Daily Detox and Fat Flush.

Sometimes you just have to get nasty. And if you want to skip to the nasty part scroll to the bottom. (and get your mind out of the gutter)

After too many sugary snacks over the holidays, I added some extra fluff and nonsense along with giving my digestive system hell. Yes, I know better and I didn’t do better this time. We can always get back on track.

As I’m getting ready to step into my fifties in a couple months, I’ve been getting back to doing better.   Back on my ketogenic lifestyle and healing my digestive system is a priority.

Sugar reeks havoc the gastrointentinal tract causing:

  • Inflammation
  • An imbalance in good bacteria in the gut
  • Absorption issues
  • Gas
  • Bloating
To help heal the gut I make this fat flush drink in the morning before eating or drinking anything else. It is not very tasty (it requires a water chaser for me) but seems to be helping the cause as I am seeing less bloating and have dropped 7 lbs in the past 2 weeks. The ingredients I use are:

1 oz of the unsweetened cranberry juice (I like the Trader Joe’s brand) – I only use 1 oz to keep the carb count low. Benefits – boost immune system, source of antioxidents

2 oz aloe vera gel – breaks down sugars, helps ease constipation, improve hydration, may improve blood sugar levels, remove toxins, and boost immune system (get it here)

1 Tbsp Organic Raw Apple Cider Vinegar – helps with bloating, may help improve blood sugar levels, reduced belly fat (get it here)

1/2 tsp Organic Powdered Turmeric – helps with inflammation (get it here)

1/2 tsp Organic Powdered Ginger – helps aid digestion (Get it here)

1/4 tsp Pink Himalayan Salt – for added electrolytes (get it here)

juice from 1/2 lemon – boosts immune system, helps remove toxins in digestive tract, reduces inflammation, decrease bloating

Up to 4 oz of water – to dilute the acidic taste and effects on tooth enamel

” I have noticed less bloating and belly discomfort”

I mix this up in the morning and quickly chug it like a college kid at a frat party. Expeditiously followed by several ounces of water. I choose not to add sweetners like honey or agave as they are not keto friendly. This routine happens immediately after my tongue scraping and teeth brushing, and prior to the consumption of any other food or beverage.

I have noticed less bloating and belly discomfort since adding this fat flush drink! So it is worth enduring the 3 seconds it takes to drink it.
